Moving on…
Earlier on, I had mentioned that the fee structure will vary slightly from one institution to the other.
That being so, if you’re interested in pursuing the program at other institutions, here’s what you can expect to pay at the diploma level…
On average, most notable colleges charge between ksh. 44,000 and 48,000 per semester.
Cyber Security Degree course fees
Tip: Most Kenyan universities offer this program as an undergraduate degree under the title Bachelor of Science in Computer/Information Security and Forensics.
Of course, at the degree level, the fees will be much higher just like the course duration will be longer.
The least expensive university is Open University of Kenya – they charge Ksh. 105,000 per academic year.
However, it’s important to note that their course is fully online hence you might miss out on a lot when it comes to the practical lab sessions.
If you prefer a face-to-face program, be prepared to part with anywhere between ksh. 206,180 to ksh. 244,800 per academic year depending on the university you get accepted to.
The good news is that these universities are eligible for government funding hence you can apply for HEF to subsidize your fees.
Course duration
At the diploma level, you’ll complete the cyber security program within 6 semesters (of 14 weeks each).
This translates to 2-3 years depending on the institution…
If you opt to take the degree route, it will take you 4 academic years to complete the program.
