KUCCPS courses and requirements

With over 800 KUCCPS courses available in various universities and colleges across Kenya, it’s good to make sure that you meet the minimum requirements for the course you’re applying for.

This way, you can increase your chances of getting enrolled in the course of your dreams.

In this post, I will be telling you about the different KUCCPS courses and their requirements in various universities and colleges.

KUCCPS courses and requirements

It goes without saying that the course you apply for is primarily determined by your KCSE mean grade.

Did you know that you can still advance to tertiary education even if you got an E in your KCSE?

And, if you have the determination, you can advance from an artisan course all the way to a degree program depending on the course you’re pursuing.

Now, let’s the courses that you can qualify for depending on the grade you got…

KUCCPS minimum application requirements

Here are the minimum grades you need to have in your KCSE to qualify for various KUCCPS courses:

  • Artisan courses (in TVET colleges) – you can qualify for these courses even with an E
  • Craft courses (in TVET colleges) – have a minimum mean grade of D plain
  • Diploma courses (in TVET colleges and some universities) – a minimum mean grade of C-
  • Degree courses (for universities) – have at least a minimum mean grade of C+

Tip: Some of these programmes have their own cluster subject requirements that you might need to meet. Fortunately, your cluster subjects will be shown on your portal’s dashboard hence you can easily tell which course you qualify for and which don’t.

On the pop-up box, click HERE to pay the indicated amount (usually 1500).

Your browser will now open a new page. On this page, select your preferred payment method and follow the instructions.

Note that if you’re paying via mpesa, you’ll be paying through the eCitizen pay bill – 222222.

Next, enter the provided account number (on the KUCCPS payment page) and the indicated amount (1,500).

Once you receive the confirmation message from mpesa, go back to the application window, input the account number in the slot written PAYMENT REF, and then submit.

Note: Do not enter the mpesa reference code. Instead, enter the account number you used when making payments.

Fortunately, if the code seems not to work, you can verify if the payment was successful using this procedure:

  2. Select option 6 (Check Payment)
  3. Enter the payment reference (account number) used and send
